Our primary goal in the counselling office is to empower students to set and reach their goals, whatever these goals might be. These goals will vary from student to student. For some it might mean successfully completing a program with honours, while for others it might mean surviving a year away from home. Our focus is SUCCESS and we are here to help students better understand themselves and make choices that will allow you to reach your goals.

Academic Counselling

Counsellors are available to assist potential students and current students make academic-related decisions. They also provide information on programs within the College and help students develop an academic plan. Students can also benefit from student success strategy sessions that are offered individually and in groups. Topics range from study skills, time management, stress management, test preparation, note taking and learning styles.

Personal and Crisis Counselling

The Counseling Centre services include access to counselors who can provide short term counseling for students experiencing personal and/or mental health issues.

Students in crisis situations can drop into the Counseling Centre in A0170 during regular office hours 8:30am - 4:30pm, call 705-759-2554 Ext. 2703 or email studentsupport@saultcollege.ca.
