Settlement Services

Settlement and integration support of newcomers and refugees to Sault Ste. Marie. The career centre provides resources and guidance you need to become engaged in social, civic, cultural, and economic life.

The Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP):

This service provides immediate and essential support to Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) who are selected overseas on the basis of their need for protection through Canada’s Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement Program.

Free in-person Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

Full-time day classes AND part-time evening classes are available for all skill levels and are designed to help you succeed.

Centre Francophone de Sault-Sainte-Marie

Cultural and community centre which, through its programming, activities and partnerships, assures the vitality, the expansion, and the renewal of francophone cultural and linguistic heritage.

Services include:

Pre-school programming, multi-disciplinary bilingual summer camps for children, activities for children and youth, paint nights, music, storytelling & food-centered events, francophone history collection/preservation events & projects, festivals, conversation practice, French film screening events, French-interpretation workshops, and physical activity classes in French.

The centre helps individuals improve their French for their job and businesses train their employees, as well as offers French as a Second Language classes.
